One-on-one Naturopathic Consulting

Visits are available online, by telephone or in-person at my West Toronto and Downtown Toronto Clinic locations.

A naturopathic consultation involves gathering all relevant information in regards to your health, and then developing a course of treatment. Your course of treatment might involve a range of healing modalities, such as botanical medicine, counseling, nutrition,  acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, as well as hydrotherapy and homeopathy. Nutritional injection and hormone therapy (estrogen, progesterone, natural desiccated thyroid) may also be considered.

The length of a course of treatment depends on the concerns we are treating, and what treatment plan we decide is most appropriate for you. Typically, I recommend a minimum of 3 to 4 visits to see impactful and sustainable change. The first few visits are 3-8 weeks apart.

At your initial visit I’ll aim to get a clear picture of your overall health and to understand your goals. We’ll review recent blood work or other lab results that you have. From there, we’ll work together to develop your treatment plan.

At your second visit, we’ll check in on how your treatment plan is going, and review the results of any labs or assessments that were recommended. We’ll further refine your treatment plan.

At further follow ups, we’ll collect feedback related to your treatment plan, address acute symptoms, and continue education related to your care.

In most cases, follow ups are of great benefit in not only resolving the most pressing symptoms, but in establishing a strong foundation for achieving medium- and long-term health goals. As you see improvements and learn what supports work for you, visits are generally less frequent and shorter.  You’re also always welcome to book for any acute or new symptoms.

Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) explains that our life force, or qi, flows through meridians (pathways) in our bodies. When qi is not flowing throughout, we experience a loss of balance. Acupuncture balances the flow of qi, by inserting needles into specific points along the meridians.

 Acupuncture has been shown to:

  • improve your digestion

  • address your skin concerns

  • regulate your menstrual cycle

  • attune your nervous system

  • support your fertility

  • help manage pain

 and so much more!

If the idea of coming in for acupuncture makes you feel anxious, there are alternative treatments that use the same principles. Cupping, moxa, and acupressure massage can all elicit similar benefits without the use of needles.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Facial rejuvenation or cosmetic acupuncture, also known as the natural facelift, uses a Traditional Chinese Medicine approach to promote a healthful glow from the inside out. It can be effective at:

  • reducing the appearance of fine lines

  • increasing facial tone and providing lift to sagging areas,

  • evening out inconsistencies in complexion

  • improving blood flow

  • draining lymphatic fluid

Facial acupuncture stimulates the collagen and elastin matrix of the skin, which helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and increases vitality. It may also be beneficial in reducing acne, rosacea, improving the healing of scar tissue and sun spots, and reducing puffiness and swelling in the face.

For best results, a series of 10-12 weekly or bi-weekly treatments is recommended. To maintain the benefits achieved, follow up with visits every few weeks. In most cases, noticeable changes can be seen after about 5 weeks.
