About Me

I graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto and have been practicing Naturopathy since 2020.

As a Naturopathic Doctor, I believe in identifying the root cause of any illness and that deep healing begins by honouring the body’s innate wisdom. I offer a holistic medical approach that is both evidence-informed and collaborative.  My intention is to create profound changes in the lives of my patients through thoughtful and strategic naturopathic care.

I arrived at naturopathic medicine through my own experience with a disability that included intense, chronic pain and drastic limitations on my strength and mobility. My encounters with the conventional health care system were grueling and deeply discouraging. I felt powerless to change my condition. Out of desperation, I sought out alternative forms of medicine. When I learned about the world of health supporting options available to me, and began to understand the power of my own agency my quality of life improved immeasurably. I was inspired to further develop the skills needed to help others navigate the rocky terrain of recovery with the knowledge and support I wished that I’d had from the beginning.  So, I pursued my studies in Naturopathic Medicine.

I have a broad focus on sexual and reproductive health (such as heavy, painful periods, PMS, PMDD, irregular periods, perimenopause, menopause, PCOS/PMOS, endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids and fertility), and stress-related ill-health (fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, digestive issues).

I have additional training in acupuncture for facial rejuvenation, and dermatologic concerns. I believe that people can be empowered through knowledge, and so invest in group health education.

Prior to studying Naturopathic Medicine, I graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts, focusing on Political Science. This laid the groundwork for recognizing the importance of personal, as well as socio-cultural context in shaping our health, our lives, our preferences, our economic status, and our self-perception.

My approach to Naturopathic care centres the patient. It is collaborative, educational, strategic and anti-oppressive.

Collaborative

Collaborative care is rooted in the understanding that both patient and health provider bring their distinct expertise to bear when developing a treatment plan. Maybe you’ve been told by medical professionals that your labs are normal and health is fine, but you can feel that you’re not well. Maybe you’ve been diagnosed and are being treated for something, but still don’t feel right. Your concerns shouldn’t be dismissed. We’ll work together to understand what you’re experiencing and the health goals you’ve set out for yourself.

Educational

With the glut of information on natural health coming from social media influencers and advertising, it can be very overwhelming to figure out what is accurate, and what is actually applicable to you. Lending to that confusion, most of us were never taught basic information about our own bodies’ processes. I’m here to quiet the noise, translate the science, and provide you with meaningful health information that is pertinent to you specifically.

Strategic

There may be many approaches to treating your illness, but the most strategic approach is the one that you can integrate into your daily life. I’m committed to creating a context where you can show up as you are with no pressure to be perfect. We’ll look at science, physiology and biochemistry, and also set you up toward cultivating self-awareness. Together we can figure out a course of treatment — be it changes in diet, supplements or adjustments to your sleep routine — that you’ll realistically be able to implement. I’ll never recommend calorie counting or highly restrictive, unsustainable dietary change. And if an approach isn’t working for you, there should be no shame! We can troubleshoot till we find an approach that’s right for you.

Anti-Oppressive

I understand that many of us come to health services with medical trauma. I aim to improve access to Naturopathic care by committing to an anti-oppressive framework and offering a safe, non-judgmental, culturally sensitive space for you to express and explore your health concerns. As part of that commitment, I do my best to stay informed with up to date best practices in clinical health, as well as current language and approaches with respect to inclusivity, equity and accessibility (socially, culturally and clinically). I always welcome feedback on how I can better serve you.

To address financial barriers, I offer sliding scale rates and take economics into consideration when developing treatment plans and follow-up schedules.
